A girl walking by

Remarkable resemblance to the one

Who shattered my heart a long ago

I could not help staring

She looked away

Thank you, beeze, for such a kind comment. It happened many decades ago, but strange, still so vivid.

Heartfelt the melancholy, I can see a life story in these words.

Thank you. I really appreciate your noticing this one.

  5. Lori Lipsky says:

Beautifully touching. So much said in so few words.

  6. The last one word line brilliantly catches the non-linearity of time and the enduring power of the heart. Sensitive and expressive of the vulnerability that is one of the most beautiful attributes of our humanity. Thank you :))

You better be glad (hope that didn’t come across too harshly). (Aside: go back to the poem and trace the shape of it with your finger—- what do you see? An almost heart? Take care. There is hope)

  8. Absolutely brilliant. It conveys tremendous emotion, and rings absolutely true. That final word– Again– is a stroke of genius which takes the poem to a higher level. The construction and design (the symmetry of the words and lines themselves) is also brilliant. It’s not just a poem, it’s a remarkable short story. One of your very best, sir.

  9. Your writing style just blow me away! # inspired#…. I am controlling myself to be too emotional Right now;)
