Trees lining the street Well-trimmed pleasant for the people Wonder for the birds  

Ducks seen upending They arrived for wintering As if their home moat  

I’m walking alone Small white flowers along the way One dropped in soft wind  

Autumn air in calm Noise arises in my mind Either way in peace  

Toenails such bother I can’t bend over to clip Birds laughing at me  

Feel cold like we do Leaves shivering in northern wind Winter yet to come  

My study upstairs Backpain keeps me from using Birds still sound the same  

Little bow with a smile Passersby not met before They heal my backpain  

Leaves shake like laughing Bush planted between neighbors Separate and join
