What’s wrong with this year Gardenia still blooming Pure white by the stove  

Turned on a heater To get rid of autumnal chill Shivering persists  

Little green persimmons Peeking out among big leaves Ripe when the leaves fall  

Sunflowers to look at Attracting people to the park Birds waiting for seeds  

Middle of the autumn Gardenias still blooming So white this morning  

Wafting in the air The smell of crushed ginkgo nuts Autumn sidewalk

Chirping of crickets Faintly heard deep in the grass Yearning for autumn  

Winds heard from afar Rain beats the eaves now and then Sleeping in typhoon  

Preceded by calm A typhoon soon to landfall Trees waiting to sway
