Plums still in the buds Bush warblers already here Soon to be warbling

Cold air of winter But the sunshine feels like spring Prodding the plum buds

Overhead railroad track Roared as I pass underneath Train’s gone so’s my thought

On wintry evening Warm tea in cup in cupped hands Frost on the window

Hood drawn over bangs Smile reflects sunlight through trees Buds seen on the twigs

Snowflakes on her hair All like tiny stars twinkling Slight smile and walked on

Dark sky strewn with stars Ragged clouds blown by cold wind The moon huge and bright

Winter but wind warm Amber leaves dance merrily Puppies join circling
