A lone dragonfly Came to a morning glory No place to perch on  

Poles not tall enough Tendrils of morning glories Swaying in the wind

The same place same fence Morning glories entwining Purple the same color

Chirping to chirping Two birds above on a branch A couple on a bench

Walked by its master A dog enjoying June rain Eyes as if smiling

Woke up to sparrows Chirping loud by the window Sunlight through curtain cracks

Gong of the temple bell Coming down the mountain path As I walk against

Summer sun through trees Cool shadows on the sidewalk So geometric

Large morning glories Tendrils crawling on the eves Flowers free to wave

So many in bloom Morning glories competing With hydrangeas
