Birds chirping outside Sounds laughing in winter’s cold Hear it over tea

Disturbed by joggers Fallen leaves flew up and followed Twirling together

Outside the window Sunlight through naked branches Birds jumping around

A Christmas full moon I just saw it in Tokyo You all have your turns

People walking faster Countdown began for yearend Must make their ends meet

Fighting or sharing What to make of the chirping? Sparrows this morning

Christmas lights lit up Ducks at the park pond don’t care Their heads under wings
