The scent in the air
The mountain path to the temple
Bell heard in the mist
Beautiful; I can see the pathway, and the temple up ahead, through the mist… It it verbena I smell?…
Thank you. The smell is from the incense burned at temples. I don’t believe we have the verbena flowers here.
Okay, I can see that; the incense is as pleasant to smell, and makes more sense… My imagination is flexible…
this sets a lovely scene, the mountain path, the familiar fragrances, the temple that stands through time. wonderful AshiAkira.
Thank you as always. I very much appreciate your in-depth reading of my haiku poems.
it is my pleasure, haiku is one of my favorite genres of poetry and I would have to rank yours up there with Basho…yes, I said it. 🙂
You really pushed me high, and my heart is soaring. But Basho is too high above to reach.
you are closing in on him, Ashi!
I don’t know what to say. I’ll be soaring all day to day.
