Thanked him but felt sad

It’s strange when that happens, isn’t it? Did I grow old, you wonder?

  2. Oh yes! this one also got a giggle — of identification.

It used to bother me, but my feet and legs tell me not to be a silly old coot! If someone wants to do something nice for you, don’t deny them the chance to feel good about themselves for being a good person! (That’s what I tell myself!)

Yes, I know what you mean 🙂

  5. RoSy says:

Nice to see when someone does that for someone else.

  6. Yes, I know that little prickle of sadness, but I gladly accept.

  7. petchary says:

I really don’t feel sad about those things. I actually like that (some) people respect you as you grow older.

  8. Theresa says:

This is so very true. I can only hope I have gained wisdom along with the “old”…

I’m trapped in the stage where your teachers taught you to say “Miss so and so” and “Mr. so and so” instead of calling older persons by their first name. However, when it comes to giving seats, I try to gauge it, some persons look a little wary if they see you about to get up… others are easier- when they do look tired and all… hope the heat treats you better 🙂

  10. Aww. That is bittersweet, with a sharp tang.
