Blooming in the street Girls in the flower of age Dazzling as the sun

Out of the park woods Explosive cicadas’ shriek That’s their prime of life

In a narrow path A frog refuses to budge A fly near its nose

Day’s work is over Breeze in rain through fragrant woods No better reward

Pitch-dark mountain path Suddenly the scent of lily Leads to a new world

Sunflowers drooping Under the lush roadside trees No sun to face to

Path through the shrine woods Nothing but cicadas’ cry Calms down traffic noise

Lonely hydrangeas Look fragrant but no fragrance Change colors in rain

In the same water Lotus and water lily Like man and woman

Cicadas chirping The first to hear this summer Sounds warning time flies
