      They aren’t exactly loveable, but their feather is shiny, and they have just as much right to be part of this world and obligation to face challenges to make a living as humans do.

        They do very well here in Vermont. I wrote a post on letters to rosa about how my brother “adopted” one when we were kids. I’ve never seen such an intelligent bird. They are, however, a real nuisance come garbage-collection day – they love to spread the mess!
