A lone brown maple leaf Fell twirling to the garden pond Carps came, turned away

Cool breeze dance through trees Letting leaves fall to carpet The promenade path

Gingko nuts scattered On the sidewalk and all crushed Nourishment wasted

Gingko nuts picking Fingers slime and bad smell Roast, eat and forget

Tall grass drooping brown Bell crickets tuning their wings For an autumn moon

Dragonflies chased me Came to perch on my shoulder Walked with me awhile

Summer’s heat lingers Fallen cicadas on park path Ants in procession
